Welcome to 2010 at CTC!
Social and ‘inclusive’ winter league tennis, combined with a full coaching programme, has meant our
newly resurfaced courts and lights have seen lots of use over the winter.
The AGM was very well attended, with enthusiastic discussions on a number of important aspects of
our Club. It unanimously approved an above inflation rise in Subscriptions. This rise starts to recover the
significant recent investment in resurfacing and extending our playing facilities.
Ahead of personal cheques being withdrawn by the banks in 2011, members can now make their
subscription payments directly into the CTC bank account. Please can I encourage you to adopt this new
payment method for this year’s Subscription, as it’s easier than writing/posting a cheque and will help to
reduce the workload of our volunteer committee.
Talking of which, I’d like to welcome our new Social Secretary, Carolyn MacDougall. I’d also thank
outgoing Committee Member, Valerie McLellan, for all her hard work and energy over the years on social
events and the Court Circular newsletter.
This year we are introducing individual Membership Numbers as a way to identify and communicate with
you on a more personal level. We will communicate more frequently by email as part of our drive to be
environmentally friendly and cost effective.
We have a new Club logo that you’ll see on our letterhead, refreshed web site and Club sportswear. This
year www.cirentennis.net will have more up to-date information.
With lots planned for adults and juniors alike, please do join in and help make this another exciting and
fun year at Cirencester Tennis Club.
See you on court!
Julian Smith, Chairman

At the last AGM, Members unanimously voted for an increase in Subscriptions to help cover our recent major investment in Club facilities – 7 resurfaced courts including 4 floodlit (1 brand new).

Please make sure you get your Subs to Darren Ash, our Membership Secretary, by the end of February.
Summer League 2010
This year we again have 5 Men's and 5 Ladies' teams in the Wilson sponsored Gloucestershire Summer League.
The number of teams means we cater for a wide range of playing standard - from the lower Divisions to the Premier - so there are plenty of opportunities for both adults and juniors to take part.
Interested in playing or have any Questions ? Ask the Captains!
Email Paul Harris or phone 07789 687 304 as soon as possible.
Email Zena Marchington or phone 01285 652390 as soon as possible.
We are always looking for new Team Players for our Winter and Summer Teams!
Junior Coaching
Head Coach Rob Negus has a full programme of coaching running over the Spring term, with sessions to suit all ages and abilities.
Junior Aces - Box Leagues
Watch out for the new “Junior Aces” sessions which start in March and run through to July. These will give all junior members and children who are in the coaching programme the opportunity to play in some fun box league matches. The cost for each session will be £1.50 for members and £3.50 for non-members.
Mini Aces, for Primary and Junior School children, will run on a Tuesday, 3.30pm - 6pm.
Teen Aces, for Secondary School or Invited junior players, will be on a Monday, 3.30pm - 6pm.
There are Mini tennis fun camps (4–11 years) and teen camps (11–16 years) are also organised for the holidays.
